2017 is here, another year has passed. It is an AWESOME thought, isn’t it? Things that you may have resolved to do may not have been done, but it is too late – at least for 2016. Still we praise the Lord for His Goodness, mindful of the fact that the LORD is good. Always. We have no idea what this year may bring forth, but we can count on the Promises of God!
Reflecting on the brevity of life – as we must, I (Bruce) reflect on how many people that I know that are unsaved and a year closer to eternity. And without Christ. We had hoped to see some saved in 2016 (and some were), but there are still many – too many -- outside of the Blessings of Life in our Savior.
It is too early to know for certain who will be returning to the States in 2017, but we know some that are scheduled. The Pinyol family will be coming; Rodney and Lynn Myers are also coming. Although the plans are not settled, Dave and Debbie Nunemaker are planning (at this point) to come. Please pray for our traveling missionaries.
Life is uncertain these days, perhaps more uncertain than it has been in many years. Some of our missionaries thought that the Lord might come in 2016. He did not. But HE MAY COME in 2017, we don’t know. For myself, I (Bruce) have resolved that I will make more efforts this year in personal evangelism, “knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men” (2 Cor 5.11). The Apostle Paul did not shrink from his responsibility for proclamation at Corinth, and neither must we – wherever we find ourselves to be!
The Scripture says, speaking of our Lord, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the Glory of God by us” (2 Cor 1.20). Our Lord Jesus Christ is the guarantee that God the Father will keep His promises; His Resurrection guarantees ours (1 Cor 15.17, and the entire context). Our future is … Glory. I am looking forward to 2017. We praise the Lord for you and your support for GFF.
