What Is GFF?

Gospel Furthering Fellowship (GFF) is an independent Baptist mission founded in 1935 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our name reflects our purpose and our passion for reaching the world with the message of Jesus Christ.

Gospel

We believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the message of hope and salvation for all mankind. As Romans 1:16 declares, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” Our mission begins with faithfully proclaiming this life-changing truth.

Furthering

We are committed to taking the Gospel to those who have never heard and helping advance the message of Christ throughout the world. We desire to fulfill the call of Romans 10:15, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

Fellowship

We believe missions is accomplished through partnership. By working alongside local churches and their missionaries, we seek to help spread the Gospel so that, as Romans 10:18 says, “their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.”

GFF Disctinctives

Partnership
We believe missionaries are stronger when they are supported through meaningful relationships. GFF partners new missionaries with experienced mentors who provide guidance throughout deputation, deployment, and ministry transitions, helping them navigate the unique challenges of missionary life.
Planting
Our goal is to establish churches that are independent and indigenous from the very beginning. We desire to see local churches formed with a biblical foundation, equipped to stand on their own, and capable of carrying out the Great Commission within their own communities.
Propagation
We believe the Gospel must address mankind’s greatest need—the need for reconciliation with God. Our missionaries focus on proclaiming the truth of Scripture and reaching the heart and conscience of individuals rather than simply addressing external circumstances.
Pattern
We seek to model a ministry approach that can be reproduced by national believers. Rather than creating dependence on outside resources, we encourage churches to develop ministries that can be sustained through the faith, leadership, and giving of the local believers themselves.
Promotion
We are committed to reaching those who are unreached, underreached, and misreached with the Gospel message. Following Christ’s command in Acts 1:8, our desire is to take the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.
Proactive
We believe missionary care should be intentional, not merely reactive. GFF seeks to provide ongoing support, encouragement, and resources that strengthen missionaries throughout every stage of their ministry journey.
Our Doctrinal Statement

What is our purpose?

The primary ministry of Gospel Furthering Fellowship is to assist like-minded, independent Baptist churches in fulfilling the Great Commission by planting strong, indigenous local churches that bring glory to God.

Independent
We believe that God designed the local church to be self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating. Our goal is to assist in establishing churches that are firmly rooted in Scripture and equipped to carry out their God-given mission within their own communities.

Indigenous
We believe effective church planting begins with communicating the Gospel clearly within the language and culture of the people being reached. Our missionaries seek to understand the communities they serve while faithfully presenting the truth of Scripture and calling people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Rather than focusing only on external circumstances, we believe the Gospel addresses mankind’s greatest need—the need for reconciliation with God through the new birth. As believers are transformed by Christ, they are equipped to follow Him, grow in discipleship, and share the Gospel with others.
